BYRD, Kate Butcher - Putnam

Russellville - Mrs. Kate Byrd, 87, a life resident of this community, died Saturday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Raccoon and of the Pythian Sisters Lodge. Mrs. Byrd was a daughter of David and James (sic - May Jane) Akers Butcher and was born July 30, 1883. Her husband, William Byrd preceded her in death. Surviving are a niece, Laura Williams and a nephew, Floyd Graham. Funeral rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McGaughey & Son Funeral Home in Russellville with Rev. Thompson officiating and burial in RUssellville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Monday.   --- typed by Chris M.
